The 2021 Saints & Scholars Award is presented to:

Mrs. Joan Metzger

Our 2021 Saints and Scholars recipient is Mrs. Joan Metzger. Joan is our school historian. She has spent countless hours over the course of two years reviewing and organizing our school's historical artifacts. Joan would sit in our school during dreadfully hot, summer days and go through yearbooks, pictures, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, etc...During this time, Joan was able to make sense of all of these priceless materials and create a historical book entitled, The Lancer Legends. The book houses information from our very first St. Mary School all the way to present day. On top of that, now our historical archives at school are organized and cataloged because of her contributions of time and talent to keep our school's history alive! In addition, Joan has been instrumental in organizing and updating the Parish Library, and she serves as an extraordinary minister at Mass and to the home bound. She is also active with the women's bible study and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Thank you to Joan for making ALL of this happen! We truly appreciate what you have done and what you continue to do to support St. Mary School and Parish.
